History
Trust House was founded in 1994 by four communities of religious women: the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, Northeast Community; the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur; and the Daughters of the Holy Spirit. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with members of the founding orders serving as corporators and a board composed of community representatives. The sisters’ original vision was to provide a nurturing environment that encourages everyone to realize his or her full potential by providing classes in one-on-one or small group settings. We are a partner agency of United Way of the Capital Area, a Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Brighter Futures Family Center, and a member agency of the State of Connecticut’s Children’s Trust Fund’s Nurturing Families Network.
